On March 6, 2022, to honor the feat, mass heroism, and resilience of citizens who defended their cities during the repulse of Russia's armed aggression, the President of Ukraine established the honorary award “City - Hero of Ukraine.”

In the Mykolaiv region, the regional center was awarded the honorary distinction, and the stamp sheet that will be put into circulation on September 9, 2024, as part of the “Own Brand” project, is dedicated to this city.

The stamps feature the work of watercolorist Maksym Kisilov, who depicted the Church of St. Joseph in Mykolaiv.
