Olha Kobylianska (1863-1942) was a prominent Ukrainian writer, civic activist, and feminist who is considered one of the classics of Ukrainian literature. She was born in Bukovyna and grew up in a multicultural environment, which influenced her worldview and work. Kobylianska actively supported the ideas of women's emancipation and reflected this in her works, in particular in her novels The Princess and The Land, which address issues of social inequality, women's right to education and self-realization. Her work is characterized by deep psychology, attention to the inner world of her characters, and a sophisticated writing style.
