On December 21, 2021, on the 160th anniversary of the birth of Yevhen Chykalenko, a Ukrainian philanthropist and one of the initiators of the convocation of the Central Rada, a stamp with his portrait was put into circulation. The new postage issue was initiated by the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory.

As a philanthropist, Yevhen Chykalenko founded the Mordovets Foundation for Assistance to Ukrainian Writers, supported the activities of the Shevchenko Scientific Society in Lviv. He published the works of Ivan Franko, Mykhailo Kotsiubynskyi, Vynnychenko and other writers. He also published the Ukrainian-language newspaper Rada and dictionaries of agricultural, natural, and mathematical vocabulary at his own expense. His scientific work “Conversations on Agriculture” became the main literature for Ukrainian peasants at that time.

This is not the only issue dedicated to famous Ukrainian philanthropists. In 2014, the postal block “Glorious families of Ukraine. Tereshchenko family" was issued in 2014, and “Glorious families of Ukraine. Galagany”.
