Maria Muzychuk is a grandmaster (2015), two-time champion of Ukraine (2012, 2013), the best chess player in the world in 2015, and the 2015 Women's World Champion. As a member of the Ukrainian women's national team, she is the winner of the 2022 Chess Olympiad, 2013 World Champion and 2013 European Champion, silver medalist of the 2018 Chess Olympiad, and bronze medalist of the 2012, 2014, and 2016 Chess Olympiads.

Anna Muzychuk is Maria's older sister, a grandmaster (2012), two-time world champion in women's lightning chess (2014, 2016) and world champion in women's rapid chess (2016). She is the 2017 World Women's Vice-Champion in Classical Chess.
