The postage stamps included in the booklet feature illustrations by artist Kateryna Shtanko for the Ukrainian folk tales “The Mare's Head” and “The Golden Slipper”.

The Mare's Head is a mystical creature from Ukrainian fairy tales that appears out of nowhere and puts the heroes to the test. It is frightening or even cruel to those who disrespect it, but fair to the kind and honest.

“The Golden Slipper” is a Ukrainian version of the well-known fairy tale Cinderella.

The stamps were put into circulation on April 30, 2010, under the Europe program on the theme “Children's Books”.
