Block «The Cultural epochs of Ukraine. The Paleolithic Age»

In Stock

The Paleolithic period, also known as the Ancient Stone Age, is the oldest stage of human society, characterized by the original development of stone tools.

It lasted from the earliest known use of stone tools by hominids (about 3.3 million years ago) to the end of the Pleistocene (12 thousand years ago).

People of this era organized themselves into small societies, such as bands, and lived by gathering plants, fishing, and hunting wild animals.

The Paleolithic period is divided into three periods: the Early (Lower) Paleolithic (3.3 million to 300 thousand years ago), the Middle Paleolithic (300 to 50 thousand years ago), and the Late (Upper) Paleolithic (50 to 12 thousand years ago).

The stamps of the postal block depict scenes from the Upper and Middle Paleolithic period.
