According to one version, in July 1739, in the town of Okhtyrka in the Sumy region, a local priest of the Intercession Church found an icon of the Mother of God lying in the grass and radiating light.

The priest took the image home, where it was kept for three years, and then the Mother of God appeared to Father Vasyl in a dream and ordered him to wash the icon and remove the dust from it.

In the second dream, she told him not to pour out the water after washing, but to heal people with it. Since then, the icon has been considered miraculous. Today, a copy of this image is kept in the Holy Protection Church in Okhtyrka.

The stamps depict an image of one of the images kept in the Onatskyi Sumy Regional Art Museum.
