Arkhip Kuindzhi (1842-1910) is a Ukrainian landscape painter and teacher of Greek origin, born in Mariupol in the family of a shoemaker.

Arkhip Kuindzhi's landscape "After the Thunderstorm" (1879, cardboard, oil, 10x16 cm) is a variant of the work of the same name stored in the State Tretyakov Gallery) and was exhibited in 1879 as part of a kind of "trilogy" (together with "North" and "Birch grove").
