Personalized Stamp Issue: River Flotilla. Free as the Wind

We are pleased to present the latest issue of the Personalized Stamp project, dedicated to the River Flotilla of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Ukraine has more than 4,000 kilometres of inland navigable waterways. Besides the Dnipro River, these include the Danube, the Southern Buh, the Dniester and navigable sections of other rivers. Both the sea and the country's rivers serve as vital transport routes, natural defensive barriers and strategic corridors that often determine the outcome of military operations.

Following the liberation of Kherson, the Dnipro became one of the hottest sectors of the front line. Control of its islands, crossings and waterways turned into a daily struggle in which the River Flotilla of the Ukrainian Navy plays a crucial role. It was here that Ukraine's modern river warfare was forged — fast, highly manoeuvrable and exceptionally challenging.

River warfare differs significantly from naval warfare at sea. Operating in shallow waters, among islands and narrow channels, river boat crews transport troops and ammunition, establish and maintain crossings, deploy and evacuate assault units, patrol waterways and support combat operations along riverbanks and on islands.

The first units of the River Flotilla were formed immediately after the start of the full-scale invasion in the spring of 2022. In 2023, the President of Ukraine presented Battle Colours to the 26th and 27th Separate River Boat Divisions, and the following year both units were awarded the honorary distinction "For Courage and Bravery."

For their courage and professionalism in combat and special operations, 188 service members of the River Flotilla have received state awards, including one Hero of Ukraine, honoured with the Order of the Gold Star.

Today, the River Flotilla continues to carry out combat and special missions every day, defending Ukraine's waterways and helping bring victory closer.

• a numbered stamp sheet (9 stamps);
• a numbered illustrated envelope (C6 format) with a special cancellation.

The number of sets is 950. The price of the set is UAH 800.00.

If not all sets are purchased within the specified period, the remaining quantity will be released for general sale in the Ukraposhta Market.
