Description:

On the third anniversary of the signing of the Agreement between the Secretary of State for Defense of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, under which two Sandown-class mine countermeasure vessels were transferred to Ukraine.

The ships are named after the minesweepers Chernihiv and Cherkasy, which resisted Russian aggression in 2014. The modern minesweepers Chernihiv M310 and Cherkasy M311, which served in the Royal Navy of Great Britain, are now being prepared as part of the Ukrainian Navy to clear our Black Sea of Russian mines, ensure free navigation, and protect Ukraine's national interests at sea.

This issue is dedicated to all those who bravely defend Ukraine's seas and coastline: those who, from the first days of the war, stopped the enemy's advance in the Mykolaiv region, on Zmiinyi Island and the Crimean isthmuses, in the Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions; those who ensured the departure of the cruiser Moskva on its famous course; those who liberated the Kherson region and pushed Russian ships away from our shores; those who destroy important enemy military targets with powerful missile strikes, defend ports, clear minefields, and ensure the safety of navigation and transportation in the interests of Ukraine's national economy.

The postage stamps combine images of the latest combat mine countermeasure vessels and symbols of the cities of Cherkasy and Chernihiv — important centers of Ukrainian history, statehood, resistance to occupiers, and support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The marked artistic envelope "And there will be no enemy on the renewed land..." bears the postmark “Trident” with the imprint of a special cancellation “Ukrainian Navy. Mine countermeasure vessels M310 Chernihiv and M311 Cherkasy”.
