Stamp booklet «Ukrainian carols in Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra»

On January 7, 2023, Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine Epiphanius held the first Christmas service in the Assumption Cathedral of the Kyiv Cave Monastery, which ended with the performance of Ukrainian carols. This event was the restoration of historical justice, as the OCU is the successor to the ancient Kyiv Metropolis, which owned the shrine for more than 600 years since its foundation. In addition, the Ukrainian language has finally returned to one of the largest Christian centers of our country, which is a significant contribution to the preservation of the national and spiritual identity of every citizen. In honor of this achievement, and on the occasion of the 950th anniversary of the foundation of the Assumption Cathedral, a new postal issue, Ukrainian Carols in the Kyiv Cave Monastery, was presented. The stories of the postal issue, created by artist Mykola Kochubey, tell about the unique history of the main Lavra cathedral: from its foundation to restoration, about the traditions of monasticism established by Sts. Anthony and Theodosius of the Caves, and about the return of the shrine after many years of occupation. The booklet contains postage block “Ukrainian carols in Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra”, cover “First Day” with the cancellation “First Day. Kyiv", card. The booklet contains a description of the issue in Ukrainian and English.
