After the beginning of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine, Patron became one of the most famous dogs in Ukraine and in the world. The three-year-old dog Patron, the mascot of Chernihiv pyrotechnicians, serves in the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and, together with his colleagues, searches for and neutralizes explosive devices. Since February 24, Patron has found more than a hundred shells and mines. All of them have been neutralized. As a result, many human lives have been saved.

Patron, a Jack Russell terrier, received a medal "For devoted service" from Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The dog has his own vest, a social media page and an embroidered “vyshyvanka” shirt.

Patron, who helps rescuers clear mines in Chernihiv, has become a real hero for Ukrainians and has won children’s hearts.
