The leopard snake (Elaphe situla) is a rare species of snake found in Ukraine. It is listed in the Red Data Book of Ukraine with a vulnerable status. This snake is of great importance for ecosystems, as it helps control the number of rodents and other small animals. In Ukraine, the leopard snake is distributed mainly in the southern regions, such as the Crimean peninsula, the steppe zone of the Black Sea and Azov Sea.
