The Vyshhorod Icon of the Mother of God is one of the most revered images of the Mother of God by Christians, painted on a lime board, the original size was 78x55 cm. At the beginning of the 12th century the Patriarch of Constantinople presented the icon to Prince Mstislav the Great (according to other sources - Yuri Dolgoruky). At first it was placed in the monastery church of Vyshgorod, later the holy image was taken out by the Suzdal prince Andrey Bogolyubsky. Currently, the icon is in the church-museum of St. Nicholas in Tolmachy at the Tretyakov Gallery.
