54.00 ₴

The sheet “Long-nosed Cormorant and Porpoise” (6 se-tenant pairs, 2 stamps each) is dedicated to representatives of the Black Sea fauna that require special attention and protection.

The long-billed cormorant is a rare seabird with a characteristic long beak and dark plumage that nests on the rocky coasts of the Black Sea and is an indicator of the state of marine ecosystems.

The porpoise is the smallest member of the dolphin family living in the coastal waters of Ukraine; this species is listed in the Red Book of Ukraine due to its declining population.

The issue reminds us of the value of preserving the biodiversity of Ukrainian seas and emphasises the importance of protecting rare species in our nature.
