"Mavka. The Forest Song" is a feature-length animated film by Animagrad studio. The studio is part of FILM.UA Group and is one of the leading animation productions in Eastern Europe. The film is based on Lesya Ukrainka's fairy tale drama The Forest Song and is inspired by the images of Slavic mythology. The protagonist Mavka, the Soul and Guardian of the Forest, falls in love with the talented musician Lukash, and faces a difficult choice: love or duty to the Forest. This is a story about the magical power of love that unites, saves and gives life. The project's consultants are experts from the Department of Folklore Studies at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, the National Center for Folk Culture "Ivan Honchar Museum" and the Museum of Fashion History of Ukraine. The original soundtrack to the cartoon was created by musicians of the DabaBrakha ethnic band. A partner, the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF-Ukraine), helps to realize the environmental mission. In particular, together with the Fund, they have launched the all-Ukrainian long-term charity campaign "Let's Save the Lynx!", which aims to help the lynx and its cubs survive in Ukrainian forests. In addition, animals from the Red Book of Ukraine will appear in the movie.
