Block «Trypillia. Cultural epochs of Ukraine»

In 1893-1894, Vikentii Khvoyka discovered the first Trypillia settlement in modern Ukraine on Kyrylivska Street in Kyiv.

A few years later, in the fall of 1897, several more settlements were discovered in the vicinity of the village of Trypillia in the Kyiv district, which is where the name of the archaeological culture of the Neolithic and Early Eneolithic periods came from.

The postage stamps of the "Trypillia. Cultural Epochs of Ukraine" stamps visualize the two leading branches of human activity of that time - agriculture and foundry.
