Predators of the Heights

The first battalion of unmanned systems “Predators of the Heights” of the 59th assault brigade named after Yakov Handziuk of the Unmanned Systems Forces is among the top units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in terms of destroying enemy personnel and military equipment. At the time when the brigade was still under the command of the Ground Forces, this battalion became the first unit of unmanned systems of this type in the army.

Today, the 1st Battalion of the “High Altitude Predators” UAS performs combat missions as part of the 59th Assault Brigade of the “Steppe Predators” UAS in the Pokrovsk direction.

On September 30, 2025, thanks to the coordinated actions of the battalion, the Baltic Group crew destroyed an enemy Mi-8 helicopter with the help of FPV, along with its crew members and commander, Senior Lieutenant Mykhailo Avramenko, call sign “Amur.” The pilot turned out to be the son of the commander of the Russian Air Force's army aviation brigade.

On January 8, 2026, a special cancellation, “Predators of the Heights,” will take place in Kyiv at the main post office (22 Khreshchatyk Street) from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
