Block «Crimean nature reserve»

The Crimean Nature Reserve is one of the oldest nature reserves in Crimea and one of the largest nature conservation sites in Ukraine. Founded in 1923, it covers an area of about 44 thousand hectares and is located on the southwestern slopes of the Crimean Mountains. The reserve is of great natural and scientific importance, as it preserves rare species of plants and animals, as well as unique ecosystems.

The reserve is home to such animals as the Crimean deer, mouflon, brown bear, and many species of birds. In addition, the reserve contains valuable forests of oak, beech, pine and other rare plants.

The Crimean Nature Reserve plays an important role in scientific research on nature conservation, ecology and biodiversity.

The postal block dedicated to the reserve consists of four stamps: “Black Vulture”, “Swan Islands”, “Red Deer”, and “Yaylinsky Smilka”.
