The pink pelican is a bird from the pelican family, listed in the Red Book of Ukraine. It is protected in the Danube Biosphere Reserve. In Ukraine, during the migratory period and in summer, it is found on the Danube reservoirs, on the estuaries of the Dniester and Dnipro, off the coast of Crimea, and in some places on the Azov coast. Its habitat is large freshwater bodies of water covered with reeds; occasionally, saline areas without vegetation, with low islands.
