“Lighthouses of Ukraine” is a famous postal series launched by Ukrposhta in 2009 and continued in 2010 and 2020, dedicated to the navigational objects of Ukraine that help ships not to get lost in the stormy sea. The postal block with lighthouses, issued in 2010 (designed by Nadiya Rudaya), won prestigious philatelic awards: I place in the 10th Chinese competition “Best Print” (2011) and VI place in the competition “Grand Prix of the WIPA Exhibition” (Austria, 2012). This year's postal issue features the following lighthouses: Ai-Todorsky Lighthouse (1835, Black Sea, Gaspra village, Crimea, Ukraine), Chauda Lighthouse (1886, Black Sea, Cape Chauda, Crimea, Ukraine), Shagany Lighthouse (1944, Black Sea, near Prymorske village, Odesa region), Bilosaray Lighthouse (1811, Azov Sea, Bilosaray Spit, Donetsk region), Berdiansk Upper Lighthouse (1878, Azov Sea, Berdiansk, Zaporizhzhia region); Ruskyi Zadnyi Lighthouse (1863, Buzka-Dnipro-Lyman Canal, Ruska Spit, near the village of Lymani, Mykolaiv region). The fourth issue of the series coincided with the 25th anniversary of the State Hydrographic Service of Ukraine, which is responsible for navigational and hydrographic support of navigation, and Ukrainian lighthouses.
