Donated blood is a valuable, genuine resource that is extremely important for the rehabilitation and treatment of patients who need blood or its components (transplantation, cancer treatment, complex surgeries, etc.).

Before Russia's large-scale invasion, only a third of patients in Ukraine received donated blood on time. In the face of current challenges, the need for donated blood has increased by 60%. So today, donor organizations are actively supporting Ukraine's blood system, its timely delivery to the frontline, and mobilizing blood donors to help patients and wounded defenders. According to statistics, more than 60% of military deaths are caused by blood loss: in most cases, this could have been avoided if a blood transfusion had been performed in time.

The postal issue “A chance for life”, initiated by DonorUA (All-Ukrainian Association of Donors of Ukraine) on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of its establishment and which conducts donations under the slogan “Your blood will win!”, aims to draw public attention to the problem of the stable need for donated blood and inspire even more people to participate in the donor movement.
