Postage set «Trident. Honor»

"Trident. Honour" is Ukrposhta's new stamp issue dedicated to Ukraine's principal national emblem — trident. The artwork was created by Ukrainian graphic artist Oleksii Kustovskyi (Kusto), known for his graphic works and political cartoons. For many years, he has explored the image of the trident through original artistic interpretations, revealing new meanings of this historic symbol.

The stamp depicts the Tryzub in the blue and yellow colours of the Ukrainian flag combined with a pixel camouflage pattern. At the base of the emblem, the artist subtly incorporates the gesture of the Ukrainian military salute — a hand placed over the heart. This is how Ukrainian service members render honours, greet one another, stand during the National Anthem, bid farewell to fallen comrades, and receive state awards. This gesture gives the issue its title — "Tryzub. Honour" — linking the national emblem with the values of service, dignity, and loyalty to Ukraine.

The artistic concept continues on the First Day Cover, featuring a Ukrainian warrior who embodies the connection between history and the present day. The glowing Tryzub on the warrior's chest symbolises both the heart and an inner source of strength. Surrounding the figure are symbols of Ukraine's modern defence capabilities, including a multiple launch rocket system and an unmanned aerial vehicle. In the background, the silhouette of a Ukrainian church represents the country's spiritual heritage, while the blue-and-yellow arc above the composition, echoing both the trajectory of a rocket and the curve of a sabre, unites the colours of the national flag.

The sheet's coupon features lines from Ivan Kotliarevskyi's Eneida: "Where love of homeland inspires heroes, the enemy's strength cannot prevail..." Written more than two centuries ago, these words remain strikingly relevant today, linking Ukraine's cultural heritage with its ongoing struggle for freedom and independence.
