In February 2014, Russia shattered the peaceful life of Europe by launching its aggression against Ukraine, occupying Crimea, Sevastopol, and parts of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

Eight years later, on February 24, 2022, the war escalated into a full-scale invasion. Russia attempted to destroy Ukraine’s independence and identity — but Ukrainians stood their ground and continued to resist.

Ukraine fights for its freedom and its very existence, reclaiming its land and defending its sovereignty.

The postal issue features artworks by Oleh Shupliak: “Ukraine’s Great Battle with Mordor. 2022” (on the postal block) and “Ukraine at War. 2016” (on the envelope).
