On 17 September, Ukraine celebrates Rescuer’s Day — a professional holiday honouring the courage and dedication of those who have made it their mission to save human lives in the most desperate moments.

For Ukrainian rescuers, the war has become a test that pushes human limits to the very edge. Russian troops treacherously hunt them down whilst they are clearing up the aftermath of horrific enemy shelling, but they do not retreat.
