The 23rd Separate Mechanized Brigade is a formation of the mechanized troops of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and is part of the 20th Army Corps. The brigade was formed in early 2023, with February 28, 2023, officially designated as the date of its establishment. After training, unit integration, and tactical exercises, its units began carrying out combat missions, including during the 2023 counteroffensive in the Zaporizhzhia direction.

The combat history of the 23rd Mechanized Brigade includes battles in the Donetsk, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhzhia regions, defensive and offensive operations, participation in the liberation of Novodarivka, and battles for Robotyne, Chasiv Yar, and Avdiivka, as well as operations in the Novopavlivka and Oleksandrivka directions. The brigade comprises mechanized battalions, tank crews, artillery units, reconnaissance personnel, medics, repair specialists, unmanned systems specialists, and personnel of other units.

For the courage and professionalism of its soldiers, the brigade has been awarded a Battle Flag and the honorary distinction “For Courage and Bravery.”
