The 3rd Special Operations Regiment is a combat-ready unit that has been carrying out missions in the most dangerous areas of the front since 2014.

The regiment traces its origins to January 1992, when its personnel took the oath of allegiance to the Ukrainian people and committed to defending the country’s territorial integrity. Its servicemen have also participated in international peacekeeping missions.

On March 1, 2014, the unit was placed on combat readiness, and in April its подразделення were deployed to secure Donetsk Airport, where they held the line and repelled enemy attacks until October 4, 2014.

By Presidential Decree dated August 22, 2018, military unit A2077 was granted the honorary title “named after Prince Sviatoslav the Brave,” and on July 29, 2022, it was awarded the honorary distinction “For Courage and Valor.”

Today, the regiment’s units continue to carry out combat and special missions.
