Sheet of 8 stamps «Cossack Mamay» according to the project «Personalized stamp»

500.00 ₴

The stamp sheet of 8 stamps featuring artworks of “Cossack Mamay” from the private collection of the Yurii Kotyk family reveals the multifaceted nature of one of the most enigmatic images in Ukrainian culture. The notion of the Cossack’s stoic composure, his indifference to the treachery of enemies, dangers and threats, to all manner of evil forces, as well as the image of a character and magician commanding supernatural powers, is only part of the truth about him. His calmness is balanced, steadfast, and serene. He is free from fear, anxiety, and everything trivial or insignificant—this, too, is another dimension of this iconic image. He does not simply rest—he exists in a state of inner equilibrium within his own, hard-won, ordered, and protected realm of freedom. The sheet offered is unnumbered and includes 8 “Cossack Mamay” stamps with a face value of U.
