Description:

The first battalion of unmanned systems “Predators of heights” of the 59th separate assault brigade named after Yakov Gandzyuk of the Unmanned Systems Forces is among the top units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in terms of destroying enemy personnel and military equipment. At the time when the brigade was still under the command of the Ground Forces, this battalion became the first unit of unmanned systems of this type in the army.

Today, the 1st Battalion of the “Predators of heights” UAS performs combat missions as part of the 59th Separate Assault Brigade of the “Steppe Predators” UAS in the Pokrovsk direction.

On September 30, 2025, thanks to the coordinated actions of the battalion, the Baltic Group crew used FPV to destroy an enemy Mi-8 helicopter along with its crew members and commander, Senior Lieutenant Mykhailo Avramenko, call sign “Amur.” The pilot turned out to be the son of the commander of the Russian Air Force's army aviation brigade.
