Description:

The 128th Separate Mountain Assault Transcarpathian Brigade is one of the most experienced and combat-capable units of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

With the outbreak of the Russian-Ukrainian war in 2014, the brigade found itself at the center of hostilities. Its servicemen defended Luhansk Airport, holding their positions for an extended period, and in early 2015 took part in the battles for Debaltseve.

In 2018, the unit received its current name — the 128th Separate Mountain Assault Transcarpathian Brigade — reflecting its specialization and experience in mountain warfare.

Following the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022, the brigade’s units operated in the southern direction, halted the enemy’s advance, and took part in the liberation of the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions. For their performance in combat, the brigade was awarded the honorary distinction “For Courage and Valor”.

The brigade includes servicemen from various ethnic communities of Transcarpathia — Ukrainians, Hungarians, Romanians, and Slovaks — united by a common goal: defending Ukraine.

The envelope features artwork based on a quote from a poem by Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko — “And there will be no enemy on the renewed land…” — and bears the “Trident” postmark with a special cancellation dedicated to the brigade.

Issued as part of the “Personalized Stamp” project.
