Mariupol — a City of Heroes, forever in our hearts.

On March 16, 2022, Russian aircraft bombed the Drama Theater, where hundreds of civilians had taken shelter. The word “CHILDREN,” clearly visible outside, did not stop the attack. Russia destroyed the Drama Theater and killed civilians, but it cannot erase our memory.

To honor the victims and the defenders of Mariupol, Ukrposhta issued the postage stamp “City of Heroes: Mariupol” on March 14, 2025.

Coated with particles of genuine Azovstal steel, these stamps make this issue truly distinctive.

Each framed piece includes a fragment of genuine steel from one of the final batches produced in 2022, just before the Russian invasion.

This special edition is also charitable: 1,500 UAH from each purchase supports the Ukrainian Defence Forces units that defended Mariupol, including Azov and the 36th Marine Brigade.
