Language is the spiritual wealth of a nation. It carries the history of our ancestors, our ancestry, our mother's lullabies from childhood. The Ukrainian language is recognized as one of the most melodious in the world for its unique sound, rich in diminutive forms and synonyms, and famous for its idioms.

To celebrate Ukrainian literacy and language, Ukrposhta is presenting a postal issue designed to support the Ukrainian word: speaking Ukrainian means preserving the cultural space and historical heritage of our people.

The sketches created by artist Mykola Kochubei are based on symbols that combine the past and the present. They embody the role of the Ukrainian language as the source of the spiritual life of the people, the language that shapes the nation and affirms the state.
