The series “Armed Formations of the Ukrainian Revolution of 1917-1921” was launched by Ukrposhta in cooperation with the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory in 2019 and is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Ukrainian Revolution of 1917-1921. The Legion of the Ukrainian Sich Riflemen was created at the beginning of World War I in 1914 from Ukrainian volunteers in the Austro-Hungarian army. It played an important role in the formation of the Western Ukrainian People's Republic.
