Hryhorii Skovoroda is a powerful thinker, an interesting writer, and an extraordinary personality that every European culture would be proud of.

He was born in the village of Chornukhy (Poltava region). He studied at the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. He preferred personal spiritual freedom - he led an ascetic lifestyle and spent a lot of time traveling.

Among Hryhorii Skovoroda's creative heritage are philosophical works, collections of songs and fables ("Garden of Divine Songs", "Fables of Kharkiv"). Skovoroda's sayings, mainly devoted to ethics, are very popular: "Love arises from love...", "Do what you are born to do...", "...care is a movement of the soul, and life is a movement", etc. Many collections of aphorisms are compiled from them.

The author's phrase "The world chased me, but did not catch me" has become especially relevant today, as the philosopher was not caught by the Russian aggressors either. On May 6, 2022, the Russian military fired a missile at the building of the National Literary and Memorial Museum of H.S. Skovoroda in the village of Skovorodynivka (Kharkiv region), where the thinker lived and worked in recent years. Although the building was severely damaged and burned out inside, authentic items from the museum's collection related to the life and work of Hryhorii Skovoroda have been preserved. The statue of the philosopher also survived.

The stamp block consists of two stamps. One depicts Skovoroda's drawing of a fountain, symbolizing the philosopher's concept of "unequal equality." The second stamp of the block depicts Hryhorii Skovoroda himself in full growth.
