Postage set «Gifts of St.Nicolas» (stamp sheet and card)

It is noteworthy that in 2023, for the first time, Ukrainians celebrated St. Nicholas Day simultaneously with the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine — on 6'th of December . In honor of the coincidence of the two holidays Ukrposhta prepared a corresponding charity postal issue.

The magician, who in Ukraine is identified with the Christian priest Mykola the Miracle Worker, has been respected for a long time, he is a childrens favorite, a patron of students and all those in trouble. His image is revered as a symbol of humanity and high moral values. So it is not surprising that the main character of the Christmas and New Year holidays brings gifts to obedient children, and doesn't treat naughty ones at all. In the interpretation of the artist Kostya Lavra, Saint Nicholas is a poet who carries in a camouflage bag the weapons so necessary for the victory of Ukraine, and therefore the enemy will bear the full deserved punishment.
