The stamp issue, which was put into circulation on October 28, 2014, is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the expulsion of Nazi invaders from the territory of Ukraine, which at that time was at the epicenter of the confrontation between the USSR and Nazi Germany. Ukrainians paid for the expulsion of the Nazis with millions of human lives and thousands of burned towns and villages.

The stamps depict the symbolic ruins that any totalitarian empire turns into, the Ukrainian trident, and a line from the poem "I am affirming myself" by the prominent poet Pavlo Tychyna.
