January 3, 2017 marked the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Ukraine and the United States of America. The USA was one of the first in the world to recognize the Independence of Ukraine and since then has remained an extremely important and reliable partner in the political, security, trade, economic and scientific and technical spheres.

Relations with the United States are one of the most important priorities of Ukrainian foreign policy. Signed on December 18, 2008, the "Ukraine-USA Charter on Strategic Partnership" formalized the strategic nature of relations, officially establishing the fundamental principles of cooperation in a bilateral format and on the international arena as a whole.

With the beginning of russian aggression against Ukraine in 2014, the Ukrainian-American partnership reached a qualitatively new level of development. The USA is the country that provides the most extensive assistance in the political, military, economic, financial and humanitarian spheres. This aid is aimed at protecting sovereignty and territorial integrity, implementing deep democratic reforms, and transforming Ukraine into a powerful modern European state.
