Description:

The Universal Postal Union (UPU) is the world's main forum for postal cooperation and one of the oldest international organizations. The UPU operates to ensure and improve postal services in the world, uniting member countries into a single postal territory with fixed international postal rules. Previously, postal vehicles were required to pay a fee to travel through the territory of another country, and with the emergence of the UPU, the barriers and borders that hindered free international postal exchange and its growth were finally abolished.

The UPU was established at the first International Postal Congress in Bern, Switzerland, on October 9, 1874.

The stamp printed on the envelope depicts a trident, the Small Coat of Arms of Ukraine, which is one of the three national symbols along with the flag and anthem.
