Description:

On February 25 (12), 1918, in Korosten, the Minor Council of the Ukrainian Central Rada decided that “the emblem of the Kyivan State of the times of Volodymyr the Holy shall be adopted as the emblem of the Ukrainian People's Republic.” Since then, the original and ancient emblem of the owner of the coins of princely times, the Trident, has become the national emblem of modern Ukraine.

Postage stamps with the seals of the period of Ukrainian statehood in 1918-1921, collected in the stamp sheet “Trident of Independence”, are dedicated to the Trident.

The seals depicted on the stamps are kept in the collection of the Sheremetyev Museum (Kyiv).
